"Malja Show" has established itself as a "sympathy hangout" for stars.
"Malja Show," which airs every Monday at 9:30 p.m. on KBS2, is a generational empathy communication entertainment program in which communication expert "Malja Halmae" Kim Young-hee resolves audience concerns on the spot. What sets "Malja Show" apart is that it invites stars who have life experiences that perfectly match each episode's theme and draws out sincere stories. Rather than simple promotional appearances, honest sharing of concerns has earned strong responses from viewers.
So far, "Malja Show" has discussed a variety of themes with viewers, including parenting, youth, family, blood relations, new semester, friendship and office workers. Guests did not just sit in the audience; they honestly shared their experiences and actively participated with Kim Young-hee in solving concerns, showing sincerity. This has earned strong responses from viewers and made "Malja Show" a differentiated talk entertainment program.
For the "office workers" special, Kim Young-hee's fellow comedian Park Young-jin and KBS announcer Eom Ji-in appeared. Seventeen years ago, Park Young-jin, who had done the "two-person debate" with Kim Young-hee on "Gag Concert," recounted how he quietly comforted the rookie Kim Young-hee, and Eom Ji-in confessed that communication with juniors was not easy. The stories of the two people who directly experienced the joys and sorrows of working life drew great sympathy from viewers.
Actor Ji Seung-hyun appeared on the "friendship" special. Ji Seung-hyun came to the live taping with a close friend he has kept in touch with since high school and shared memories of the friend who even accompanied him when he first signed up for acting school, showing the true value of friendship. In particular, Ji Seung-hyun's parents also appeared, taking time to reflect on the meaning of a friend as close as family.
The "new semester" special featured working moms Jung Kyung-mi and Kim Kyung-ah. In the episode, which was the show's first to be rated suitable for all ages, the two offered empathy and comfort to parents exhausted from raising children. Kim Young-hee also appeared with her daughter and shared the hardships of being a working mom.
The "head of household" special, which recorded the highest ratings, featured singer Park Gun. Park Gun, who lost his mother to illness at an early age, sincerely empathized with a son's concern that "my mother has liver cancer but refuses a liver transplant," and like a son, sent a video letter to the story's mother, bringing many viewers to tears.
Recently, comedienne Jung Sun-hee appeared on the "life is timing" special and confessed that after the death of her husband Ahn Jae-hwan she was buried in debt but was able to get back on her feet with the help of colleagues, delivering a moving moment.
A "Malja Show" representative said, "Our strength is booking guests who match each episode's theme and eliciting sincere empathy," and added, "We will continue to present a variety of stories that viewers can relate to."
Meanwhile, KBS2's "Malja Show" airs every Monday at 9:30 p.m.
