"Climax" continues its box-office run on global charts.
On the 7th, ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama "Climax" said that after ranking No. 1 in Taiwan and No. 1 for three consecutive weeks in Indonesia, it entered the top five in the Americas, Europe, Oceania and the Middle East in its first week of release, continuing its global box-office momentum.
"Climax" is a drama that depicts prosecutor Bang Tae-seop, who plunged into a cartel of power to stand at the top position in Korea, and the fierce survival struggle of those around him. Amid continued hot global success, it proved its singular buzz by ranking No. 1 in the 2049 metropolitan rating for Monday-Tuesday dramas and No. 1 domestically on Disney+ for 21 consecutive days.
According to FlixPatrol, "Climax" ranked No. 1 in Taiwan and No. 1 for three consecutive weeks in Indonesia, and entered the top five in the Americas, Europe, Oceania and the Middle East in its first week of release (by viewers, provided by Rakuten Viki), sparking a global hit wave alongside fervent interest from K-content fans worldwide.
Also, as of the 6th, it recorded a 0.733% target rating among the 2049 metropolitan audience and remained No. 1 among Monday-Tuesday dramas (provided by Nielsen Korea), and on the global OTT platform Disney+ it recorded No. 1 domestically for 21 consecutive days (as of the 7th), solidifying its position as a dominant hit across both TV and OTT.
In addition, "Climax" proved strong buzz by ranking No. 1 in the TV drama sector of Fundex for the first week of April for three consecutive weeks among airing shows. It also took No. 1 in Naver OpenTalk rankings and No. 1 in the drama section of KinoLites' "monthly trend ranking", and with overwhelming buzz it is expected to continue its steady box-office momentum.
"Climax" is director Lee Ji-won's first drama directorial work; Lee won multiple best new director awards including the Baeksang Arts Awards for the film Miss Baek. Production was handled by HYBE Media Corp., which has presented works that combined artistic merit and commercial success such as 12.12: The Day, Inside Men, Namsan: The Director General's Affair, Deliver Us from Evil, YADANG: The Snitch, and the Disney+ original series Made In Korea.
