CORTIS (CORTIS)'s second mini-album 'GREENGREEN' visual was revealed for the first time.
CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho) posted the first album photos on the team's official SNS at 9 p.m. on April 6. In the photos titled 'BRIDGE' (bridge), the five members strode through the streets of Seoul in unadorned, everyday looks. Without flashy makeup or conceptual outfits, they show CORTIS as they are.
They did not pick any of the background locations at random. The 'Sinsa 2 Overpass' (Gilmabunggyo) that appears in the group photo is the route the members actually used to take during their trainee days. The fence in front of the apartment in another photo is also a place they passed by every day. The 'wall' mentioned in the lyrics of the debut album title track 'What You Want' — 'If I'm going to go back, I'd rather just climb over the wall' — is this very spot. As a 'young creator crew,' they infused their stories not only into the lyrics but into visuals throughout. These behind-the-scenes details make the album photos even more special.
In the individual photos, each shows a free-spirited atmosphere. Martin standing in the sun with his collar up, James posing like a model in front of a construction barrier, Juhun in front of a wall that feels lived-in, Sunghyun lost in thought with his hair tousled, and Geonho casting an untamed gaze — each expressed looks close to "raw."
To coincide with the album photo release, CORTIS is running a unique promotion using the map service Google Maps. When each version of the photos is released, a specific member leaves a review on that location in Google Maps. By sharing memories and narratives tied to the shooting locations, they add extra meaning to the album photos. On the 6th, Sunghyun left a review for the 'Sinsa 2 Overpass' (Gilmabunggyo), the background of the main photo, saying, "I always passed under this bridge during my trainee days, so it holds many memories. When we went back for this album photo shoot, it reminded me a lot of my trainee days."
CORTIS will sequentially unveil five types of mini-album photos from the 6th to the 10th. GREENGREEN, which will be officially released on May 4, centers on what CORTIS pursues and what it sets boundaries against. The title track 'REDRED' will be released first at 6 p.m. on April 20.
