She went on, "A provisional measure is a system to protect victims. However, a provisional measure does not punish the perpetrator. It only temporarily protects the victim's space and does not break the perpetrator's will to commit crimes. Each time a provisional measure ends, the victim has to go through the procedure again. I endured it three times," and emphasized, "The anti-stalking law provides for criminal punishment for violating a provisional measure. Arrest and investigation are even possible. Requesting an arrest warrant for a suspect who destroyed evidence and even confessed is a procedure the law allows. Yet the perpetrator, who even filed retaliatory complaints, has faced no arrest and no punishment so far."
Seo Yuri criticized, "There is a law. There are procedures. But those procedures did not work. What on earth can a victim do when the law does not work?"
Earlier Seo Yuri said she sued the perpetrator, who had been leaving malicious comments since 2020, for violating the anti-stalking law. After the case was transferred to the prosecution the investigation was delayed, and with the perpetrator sent to the prosecution she appealed for a petition requesting severe punishment.
