Actor Jung Yong-joo expressed heartfelt reflections ahead of the final episode of "Siren."
Jung Yong-joo played deputy Ahn Young-soo of NongHyup Life SIU (Special Investigation Unit for insurance fraud) in tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama "Siren" (directed by Kim Cheol-gyu, creator Jo Hyun-gyeong, written by Lee Young), serving as the team's reliable supporter and a cheerful source of energy.
In the drama, Ahn Young-soo, driven by a single-minded determination to escape being the "office fixture," obtained the Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) certification and grew into a passionate investigator. In particular, the scene in his first official SIU assignment where he disguised himself as Lee Gwang-jin (played by Do Gyun) and captured the perpetrator injecting drugs left a strong impression on viewers. Jung Yong-joo also brought Ahn Young-soo's humor to life in three dimensions, calmly highlighting his own contributions even amid life-or-death crises, shouldering the show's pacing and tone.
Approaching the finale, Jung Yong-joo said, "First, I sincerely thank the viewers who loved 'Siren.' It was a great honor to participate in this work as the character Young-soo." He added, "If Young-soo's friendly and humorous appearances brought even a small smile to you, I believe I fulfilled my duty as an actor," expressing deep affection for the character.
He also said, "I will come to you with better acting and a variety of transformations in the future. Once again, I bow my head in thanks to everyone who watched 'Siren,'" offering his greetings. Through this work, Jung Yong-joo proved a wide acting spectrum that crosses genres, and expectations are rising for his future moves.
Meanwhile, the final episode of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama "Siren," in which Jung Yong-joo appears, will air tonight (the 7th) at 8:50 p.m.
