Actor Kim Jaewon expressed his feelings about becoming the new male lead of Yumi's Cells following Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Jin-Young.
On the afternoon of the 7th at The Link Seoul hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul, a production press conference for the TVING original "Yumi's Cells season 3" was held. Director Lee Sang-yeob and actors Kim Go-eun and Kim Jaewon attended the press conference and talked.
Yumi's Cells 3 is a cell-stimulating empathy romance about Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun), who became a star writer, once again laughing, crying and falling in love because of Seunrok (played by Kim Jaewon), an unexpected person who suddenly appears in her unstimulating daily life.
On that day Kim Go-eun, asked about her chemistry with Kim Jaewon after reuniting following You and Everything Else, emphasized, I had such perfect chemistry. It's all captured in season 3, and when I first watched the highlight video, even though I was acting I found myself smiling with satisfaction. The video turned out so enjoyable and well made, so please be sure to watch season 3 if you're curious.
Kim Jaewon also said, I am very honored. In You and Everything Else I only had the opportunity to meet the child actor and never had a moment to work with a senior, so I was very happy to be able to work together. From the first meeting she treated me comfortably, and when the older sister opened her heart it was easy to approach. I feel I learned a lot on set.
When asked particularly about the burden of becoming the new male lead of season 3 following Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Jin-Young, Kim Jaewon said, I am honored to join a work that received so much love and attention. It would be a lie to say I didn't feel pressure because Seunrok received tremendous love and support among original fans, but I tried hard to act as Seunrok as much as possible. Putting that aside, this is my first time taking such a big role as a newcomer, and because I play a younger man I sometimes followed the lead of the older sister who has more experience than me. I learned a lot while filming, he said.
When asked to say a word to Ahn Bo-hyun and Park Jin-Young, he joked, I am honored to follow in the lineage, but in the end author Yumi I will take good care of her. I will look after her well, which drew laughter.
Meanwhile, Yumi's Cells 3 will be first released on TVING at 6 p.m. on the 13th. It will then air on tvN every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m.
