The movie 'The King's Warden' (abbreviated as '왕사남') has returned to the top of the box office.
On the 7th, according to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) integrated ticketing system for movie theaters, The King's Warden drew 37,815 viewers on the 6th, reclaiming the No. 1 spot at the box office. Its cumulative audience is 16,129,508.
Previously having ceded the top spot to Project Hail Mary, The King's Warden proved its staying power by regaining No. 1 in just four days.
In particular, having settled at third in the all-time box office rankings, the gap with No. 2 Extreme Job (16.26 million) has narrowed to the tens of thousands, drawing attention to possible shifts in the rankings.
The King's Warden is set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo and depicts the story of a young deposed king and a village head who volunteers for exile to protect the village. The steady performances of Yoo Hai Jin and Park Jihoon and the character-driven narrative have generated word-of-mouth, sustaining its long-term box office run.
In second place was Project Hail Mary, which drew 35,047 people in the same period. Following that, in third place was End Investigation with 7,164 viewers.<
