Below is the full text of Yang Joon-hyuk's statement.
Hello. This is Yang Joon-hyuk.
Recently, reports that I joined the campaign of Lee Cheol-woo, the preliminary candidate for governor of North Gyeongsang Province, have been published and related content is spreading on SNS, so it seems necessary to clarify this and I am stating my position.
A while ago an acquaintance I was friendly with asked if they could use my name, and I thoughtlessly allowed the use of my name. In hindsight, I say that it was permission given out of my ignorance, as I did not consider what would happen in the future.
I apologize for causing concern to my close friends and associates and to the baseball fans and viewers who supported me. I have no intention now or in the future of entering politics in Daejeon or engaging in related activities.
I hope there are no further misunderstandings, and I will live diligently as a responsible head of household who seeks my family's happiness.
I apologize once again for causing misunderstandings.
