"Yumi's Cells 3" actress Kim Go-eun and Kim Jaewon candidly shared their thoughts on their 10-year age difference.
On the afternoon of the 7th at The Link Seoul Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul, a production press conference was held for the TVING original "Yumi's Cells season 3." Director Lee Sang-yeop and actors Kim Go-eun and Kim Jaewon attended the press conference and talked.
"Yumi's Cells 3" is a cell-stirring, relatable romance about Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun), who became a star writer and whose unstimulating daily life is struck like a bolt from the blue by an unexpected person, Soon-rok (played by Kim Jaewon), causing her to laugh, cry and fall in love once again.
On the day, Kim Go-eun, noting that although the character is set to be 1 year younger, in reality she is 10 years younger than Kim Jaewon, said she had "diligently visited dermatologists and learned MZ terms" to make an effort, and candidly confessed, "In any case, Jaewon has many mature qualities beyond his age, so I don't think it really felt like a 10-year difference."
In response, Kim Jaewon said, "I didn't feel the age difference at all. If I had, it might have been hard for me to approach her or feel comfortable, but I didn't feel that at all. She's a very nice and pretty nuna. A nuna who buys me meals. When action starts on set, her look suddenly changes and she shows a professional senior appearance," adding, "The age difference doesn't seem to be a problem at all."
Hearing this, Kim Go-eun, looking embarrassed, interjected, "Okay, I know, I know!" and said, "Aren't you denying it too strongly?", turning the venue into a sea of laughter.
Meanwhile, "Yumi's Cells 3" will be released first on TVING at 6 p.m. on the 13th. It will then air every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m. on tvN.
