Comedian Seo Kyung-seok is receiving a warm response after announcing the publication of a Korean history book and continuing with lecture activities.
Last July Seo Kyung-seok announced the new book on his social media, saying, "I knew it was such a difficult task that I vowed never to write a book again… but I wrote one again."
He added, "I recommend it to those who are interested in Korean history but don't know where to start, and to those who want to quickly and enjoyably survey the overall flow in a short time."
A photo released with the announcement attracted attention for showing Seo Kyung-seok's book, 'Seo Kyung-seok's one-volume Korean history.' Seo Kyoung-duk applauded the move as remarkable, noting that Seo Kyung-seok is a Seoul National University alumnus.
In fact, Seo Kyung-seok drew attention by scoring 100 on the 73rd Korean History Proficiency Test. The record, as the first perfect score by an entertainer, added to his image as a "studying comedian."
His subsequent activities are also drawing attention. Seo Kyung-seok has been gaining word-of-mouth among examinees by presenting Korean history lecture content recently on his personal YouTube channel, "So Rae Kyung-seok."
In particular, through the "Korean History Kyung-seok" segment, he is conducting practice-centered lectures that make past exam question solving and key concepts easy to understand. Based on his experience writing study guides, his method of pointing out exam focal points is a feature that is receiving enthusiastic response.
He has also expanded his content to explain historical backgrounds such as Danjong, King Sejo, the Gyeyujeongnan coup, and the six martyred ministers, coinciding with the recent success of the film The King's Warden, drawing interest.
Meanwhile, Seo Kyung-seok has continued to generate headlines for steady self-improvement efforts, including taking the certified real estate agent exam in 2020 and passing it the following year.
