Singer and broadcaster Kangnam has become a new member. He announced a new leap by signing an exclusive contract with CP Entertainment.
Kangnam debuted in 2008 as the main vocalist of the Japanese rock band KCB, and began activities in Korea in 2011 with a solo single album. He then promoted as a member of the idol group M.I.B until 2016, rising to prominence as a leading variety entertainer with his candid, unfiltered talk and unpretentious character.
Since then, Kangnam has been running the YouTube channel "Neighborhood friend Kangnami," which has 1.44 million subscribers. He shows a variety of charms, from the down-to-earth daily life with his wife, former national team speed skater Lee Sang-hwa, whom he married in 2019, to cover song content that proves his outstanding vocal ability.
Kangnam, who is active across genres without distinction, is drawing attention for the synergy he will create together with CP Entertainment. In particular, expectations are higher because he has joined an entertainment powerhouse populated by top "masters of laughter" in their fields, including top entertainer Shin Dong-yeob, Lee Suji, Ji Ye-eun and Kim Gyu-won.
Kangnam said, "I am very excited and nervous to join CP Entertainment," and added, "Above all, I am really looking forward to sharing a roof with masters of variety who are active in each field. Please look forward to my new looks and challenges that I will show in the future."
CP Entertainment said, "Kangnam is a rare talent who possesses an irreplaceable sense of variety and depth as an artist at the same time," and added, "We will spare no comprehensive support in various ways so that Kangnam, who is already receiving balanced love in many fields, can expand his unique presence to the next level."
