The rookie group Modyssey showed fierce determination ahead of their debut.
MODYSSEY (Hengyu, Panzai, Lizhao, Linlin, Suren, Yichen, ROWAN) wrapped up their final pre-debut journey and showed strengthened teamwork and unity through the finale of the recently released Mnet reality variety show "SAY SAY MODYSSEY." The finale, staged under the title "K-pop new capture project," added meaning by capturing the members' unvarnished sides and real chemistry through various entertainment missions.
In the episode, a variety of missions continued, from the "luck-or-misfortune bedtime game" to the "fan-love wake-up mission," bringing both laughter and tension. Especially Hengyu and Suren provoked laughs when they were punished to sleep in outdoor tents in cold weather. At one point Hengyu, saying "if we succeed we must take revenge," went into the tent, producing a "funny-sad" reaction.
In the following "fan-love test" wake-up mission, a coffee truck return-event for fans was at stake, and the members' competitive spirit heated up. When the condition was revealed that the coffee truck would be provided in the names of only the first four people, the members threw themselves into the mission, forgetting sleep. After fierce challenges, Yichen, ROWAN, and Lizhao were named the winners, but to reflect the one-team spirit of MODYSSEY, the coffee truck will ultimately be provided under the names of all members.
The highlight of the day was above all the scene of the seven greeting the sunrise over the East Sea together. Looking at the reddening rising sun, the members revealed their feelings ahead of debut. Lizhao said, "The sun rises red like our future. We don't know what the future holds, but if we're together we're not afraid," and Linlin replied, "If we're together we can do anything," showing strong camaraderie. Confessions such as "let's trust each other and go all the way" followed, showing that the seven had solidified as one team.
In this way, MODYSSEY portrayed the process of becoming one team before debut on "SAY SAY MODYSSEY" in a cheerful yet sincere manner. They approached fans more warmly by showing a free-spirited charm different from their intense stage performances and the members' natural team chemistry.
Meanwhile, MODYSSEY, supported by the joint venture "One Seed" launched through cooperation among CJ ENM, JYP China and NCC Entertainment, established by China's largest music platform Tencent Music Entertainment (TME), will release their debut single "1. Got Hooked: An Addictive Symphony" on the 13th and begin full-scale activities. The title track "HOOK(?l)" features the production team 3RACHA from Stray Kids, generating high expectations even before release.
