Singer and actor Lee Seung Gi notified his agency of the termination of his exclusive contract, and Big Planet Made spoke out.
On the 6th, agency Big Planet Made Entertainment told OSEN regarding Lee Seung Gi's notice of termination of his exclusive contract, "We are currently doing our best to restore normal business operations as soon as possible, and we are continuously consulting so that the related matters can be resolved smoothly," it said in an official statement.
Earlier that day, one media outlet, citing Lee Seung Gi's legal representative, reported that Lee Seung Gi notified the agency of contract termination at the end of last month citing the agency's breach of the exclusive contract, and that a 'staff payment nonpayment' issue played a decisive role in the notice of termination of the exclusive contract.
According to reports, Lee Seung Gi's side said, "We tried to maintain a relationship of trust despite various issues surrounding the agency and some outstanding settlements not being paid, but problems occurred in supporting entertainment activities and paying expenses to staff and external companies," and "We inevitably decided to terminate the contract to prevent situations where staff working on site would not receive payment."
Meanwhile, Big Planet Made is one of the labels under One Hundred, and recent reports have followed that after Taemin and The Boyz, B.O, Limujin, and VIVIZ, among others, have notified the agency of termination of their exclusive contracts. At the time the agency dismissed this, saying, "We are doing our best to ensure the artists' normal activities."
