'Bogum Magical,' which ended this winter to praise as the best variety show of the season, has confirmed production of season 2.
tvN's Bogum Magical, which ended on Friday the 3rd, follows Park Bo Gum, Lee Sang Yi and Kwak Dong- yeon as they run a special hair shop in a small rural village in Muju that grooms both hair and hearts. Park Bo Gum, who holds a national barber license, is in charge of hair; Lee Sang Yi, who obtained a nail technician certificate for Bogum Magical; and Kwak Dong- yeon, who boasts adept household skills, not only took charge of cooking but also assisted with overall shop duties, delighting viewers with cheerful chemistry. In particular, the trio recently revisited the Maeum village in Muju, the filming location, adding warm emotion with their deep affection for Bogum Magical and sincere actions.
Rookie barber Park Bo Gum, who became able to share deep conversations with customers while trimming their hair; Lee Sang Yi, who played the role of the village's son and grandson with powerful friendliness and talkative charm; and Kwak Dong- yeon, who was the first to take the hands of the village elders and share affection — viewers poured praise on the three's coming-of-age story, saying, "Bogum Magical gave us dopamine, healing and fun all winter," and "It's a shame for it to end like this. We hope for season 2."
Buoyed by such strong support, Bogum Magical ranked first in its time slot across all channels for the 20-49 target audience for seven consecutive weeks, ranked in the top 10 for nine consecutive weeks in the Fundex popularity TV non-drama category and non-drama cast category, and surpassed a total of 260 million video views (as of April 2). In addition, Bogum Magical, which is meeting global fans in about 200 countries and regions including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, Europe and Oceania, scored 9.5 on IMDb, where global content reviews can be checked, proving remarkable popularity among new variety shows broadcast this year by delivering feel-good dopamine beyond borders.
The new season of Bogum Magical will return in the second half of this year. <
