On the 6th, on the SBS variety show "Are you kidding me, really!" (abbreviated as "A-geun-jin"), Shin Dong-yeob appeared as a guest and spent time with 4MCs Tak Jae-Hoon, Lee Sang-min, Lee Suji and Kai.
That day, Shin Dong-yeob and Tak Jae-Hoon, who previously worked together on the MBC variety show 'Oppa Band', showed the vibe of real-life friends. Tak Jae-Hoon said that 'Oppa Band' was a variety program directed by Shin Dong-yeob's wife, PD Sun Hye-yoon, and added that it was actually uncomfortable.
Tak Jae-Hoon opened up, saying, "My wife is a PD, but her husband is a player—I saw such a scene for the first time. I and all the participants were uncomfortable. She's the PD but also my sister-in-law and the sister-in-law's wife. Since we were that uncomfortable, I wondered how Shin Dong-yeob felt."
Shin Dong-yeob recalled, "At that time I had given bad guarantees and it was an incredibly difficult time. I was out of my mind, and when I turned on my phone during breaks there were hundreds of missed calls."
He added, "Looking at the messages, I thought, 'Do I have to pay for even this?'" and said he suffered more emotional distress than the discomfort of working with his wife.
Later, Shin Dong-yeob said, "My wife did not know about my debt when we married," which surprised the audience. When the MCs worried about how she reacted when she learned the exact amount, Shin Dong-yeob answered, "Still, because I had worked hard, if I organized my affairs I could pay off the debt," adding a sense of relief.
Earlier, Shin Dong-yeob, who had said, "I married my wife because she was 'fun and pretty,'" confessed, "I married her because she was pretty. Later I found that, coincidentally, she was also funny. At the time I liked Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung, and my wife had that kind of vibe. She had an immediately striking charm, so I wooed her."
In addition, Shin Dong-yeob mentioned Lee Sora, with whom he had dated publicly in the past, saying, "My relationship with Lee Sora was before I met my current wife. It was a page in my life and I didn't think it needed to be torn out," explaining the reason for their reunion in 2023.<
