Actor Lee Joo-yeon completed the narrative by fitting the final puzzle of the hidden truth in the finale of In Your Radiant Season.
Lee Joo-yeon played Cha Su-jin in the May 3 broadcast of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama In Your Radiant Season, acting as the key figure who uncovered the distortion of Sun Woo-chan's (Chae Jong Hyeop) memories and the truth behind the Boston explosion seven years earlier.
Cha Su-jin was the only person who knew the full details of the incident that Sun Woo-chan could not fully remember, and she drove the tension in the latter half of In Your Radiant Season. He, who had long blamed Sun Woo-chan as the cause of Kang Hyuk-chan's death, suffered from guilt as a doctor, and eventually provided a decisive opportunity to clear Song Ha-ran's (Lee Sung-kyoung) misunderstanding of Sun Woo-chan by confessing the truth she had hidden for seven years to Song Ha-ran.
That day Cha Su-jin cautiously opened up to Song Ha-ran, saying, "I'm sorry. Seven years ago, I am the person who did a bad thing to you, Ha-ran," then recounted how she became close to Kang Hyuk-chan during her student days abroad and the circumstances on the day of the accident, instantly drawing immersion. She then confessed, "I lied because I wanted to protect the already dead Hyuk-chan even if it was that way," revealing an inner sense of guilt.
In this way, Lee Joo-yeon convincingly portrayed the complex emotions of a character who appears confident and cold on the surface but harbors anxiety, wounds and secrets beneath. As episodes progressed, she persuasively revealed through the unfolding past why Cha Su-jin could not have made different choices, leading to understanding and empathy for the character.
Lee Joo-yeon expressed her closing thoughts, saying, "Thank you for watching In Your Radiant Season enjoyably until the end. It was a very happy time to greet you as the character Cha Su-jin."
In Your Radiant Season ended, leaving a warm afterglow. Lee Joo-yeon, who is preparing her next project, will meet viewers with another character and a transformation in acting.<
