On May 1, the play "I love you, Mom" finally begins its 2026 season.
"I love you, Mom" reopened in Daehangno, Seoul, on Nov. 22, 2024, after five years and received great love from audiences. The play "I love you, Mom," which extended its run by three months beyond the originally scheduled period to run for about six months, recorded numerous achievements last year.
First, it performed overseas in places such as Sydney, Australia, and Los Angeles, U.S., was invited as the opening piece for the Kim Jeon-guk family theater festival, and went on to win the grand prize in the comedy competition at the Chuncheon Theater Festival.
Following the 2024-2025 season, actor Cho Hye-lyeon again took on the roles of mother and director this season, and seasoned celebrity actors newly joining to raise expectations include Lee Kyung-sil as the mother, Kim Hak-do as the father, and Park Seul-gi and Lee Hye-ji as aunt and grandmother.
Set in the 1980s, the work portrays the sorrows and joys of a mother who, without a husband, sells fish alone in the market and raises her son stubbornly, delivering a warm message to those of us living in a harsh era to not forget the love of the family that is always by our side.
The play "I love you, Mom" runs at Daehangno Arthaus from May 1 through July 26.
