In "Manitto Club," actor Kang Hoon and Cha Taehyun's contrasting views on gifts drew amused reactions.
On the May 5 broadcast of MBC variety show Manitto Club, third-generation members actor Cha Taehyun, Park Boyoung, Lee Sun-bin and Kang Hoon, and Hwang Kwanghee, formerly of the boy group ZE:A, finally met.
They concentrated on guessing each other's manitto. Originally the manitto circle went Cha Taehyun, Kang Hoon, Hwang Kwanghee, Lee Sun-bin, Park Boyoung and back to Cha Taehyun. Earlier, to deliver gifts they had engaged in a tail-chasing pursuit, and while keeping their identities hidden they talked about whether their manittos liked the gifts.
Among them, satisfaction levels of the "T" tendency and the "F" tendency diverged sharply. The elder and "T" type Cha Taehyun emphasized the efficiency of gifts. Earlier he gave Kang Hoon 1 gram of pure gold. Considering that Kang Hoon was born in the year of the sheep, he even engraved a sheep illustration on the pure-gold card.
But "F" type Kang Hoon valued the "meaning" of gifts. For Hwang Kwanghee he carefully chose a four-leaf clover symbolizing luck and dental floss that Hwang often uses, focusing on the "support" keyword rather than the price, which is the gift's meaning. Kang Hoon later expressed disappointment at the gold gift, saying, "He came without even a card."
A surprised Cha Taehyun snapped, "Where else is there a more efficient gift than this?" The actual gold price for 1 don of pure gold had approached 1,000,000 won. Other Manitto Club members were also amazed at Cha Taehyun's gift, which would have been the most valuable if judged by price alone.
