In "My Ugly Duckling," actor Lee Bum-soo revealed his appearance after divorce.
On the May 5 episode of SBS variety show My Ugly Duckling (hereafter My Ugly Duckling), Lee Bum-soo gave a surprise preview of his current life living alone.
At the end of the episode, actor Lee Bum-soo made a surprise appearance at the home where he lives alone, and a scene showing him handling bank business by himself was revealed.
But seeming unfamiliar with banking tasks, he looked flustered as if he could not do a transfer on his cellphone. He was also shown exchanging a 50,000-won bill for smaller bills, saying parking fees had to be paid in cash.
What drew particular attention was Lee Bum-soo mentioning family matters. Earlier, Lee Bum-soo remarried interpreter Lee Yoon-jin in May 2010 and they have a daughter and a son. However, in December 2023 reports of a breakup between the two surfaced, and the following March the agency officially confirmed the two were undergoing divorce mediation. On Feb., actor Lee Bum-soo and interpreter Lee Yoon-jin, the couple, completed the legal procedures after two years since their breakup.
Lee Bum-soo's agency, Y1 Entertainment, said on the 6th, "Lee Bum-soo has completed the legal procedures related to the divorce through an amicable agreement."
Meanwhile, Lee Bum-soo said, "I had personal family matters for two to three years," and "It was sad, painful and embarrassing, so I did not want to turn on the TV," and "I became completely alone; it was really hard, it was really hard," he said again, drawing attention as viewers awaited what story he would unfold.
