Voice actor and broadcaster Seo Yu-ri asked for help in a long statement.
On the 5th, Seo Yu-ri said, "I hesitated for a very long time before writing this post today. I am afraid of what might happen if I make this post public, what lawsuits I might face, and what investigations I might undergo. I felt desperate that living as a victim in Korea is so lonely and powerless, and that I can no longer bear this alone."
According to Seo Yu-ri's statement, Seo Yu-ri sued the perpetrator who had been leaving malicious comments since 2020 under the Stalking Punishment Act, but after the case was transferred to the prosecution the investigation was delayed, and Seo Yu-ri posted on social media about the stalking victimization, the perpetrator's surname, that the perpetrator had been sent to the prosecution, and a petition form requesting strict punishment for the perpetrator.
However, Seo Yu-ri said she was sued by the perpetrator for defamation by false facts and defamation by true facts. She said she is currently in the status of a suspect and has been sent to the prosecution.
Seo Yu-ri said, "Bundang Police Station initially accepted the perpetrator's complaint and closed the case as having no charges without even conducting a suspect investigation. However, the perpetrator filed an objection to this decision, and accordingly the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Seongnam Branch requested supplementary investigation from Bundang Police Station."
She continued, "Only then did Bundang Police Station summon me as a suspect and investigate me for three hours, and I have now been sent to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Seongnam Branch as a suspect," adding, "A stalking victim is now under investigation by the prosecution as a suspect for saying she was victimized and for petitioning for the perpetrator's severe punishment."
Seo Yu-ri said the court's provisional measures also ended as of Feb. 16, 2026, and appealed, "I am now living without any legal protection. I understand the Stalking Punishment Act was created to protect victims. But as a victim, I am not protected, and the person who wrote for years that they hoped I would die is free today. And I have become a suspect."
In closing, Seo Yu-ri emphasized, "I will fight to the end. The truth will surely find its place."
