Comedian Hong Yun-hwa revealed shocking photos from before she lost 40kg.
On the 4th, Hong Yun-hwa explained the reason she lost 40kg on the MBN talk show Sokpuri Show Dongchimi.
That day, Hong Yun-hwa first opened up, "I really envied people who were healthy, so I lost 40kg. I didn't know how precious health is and that health is the best. When I was young, when someone said 'health is the best,' I used to think, 'What are you talking about? There are so many important things in the world,'"
She continued, "But while filming, my anterior cruciate ligament tore and I had to have surgery. It was my first time being hospitalized and having surgery, and my quality of life declined and I suddenly gained a lot of weight. Because my body hurt, I became mentally exhausted and felt like my whole body was a mess. I suddenly reached the highest weight of my life," she said.
Hong Yun-hwa then revealed photos from before she lost 40kg. MCs and panelists including Lee Hyun-ee and Kim Yong Man were surprised, saying, "That's a different person. It really looks like she lost 40kg," and "It looks like she put something like sponge inside for makeup."
Hong Yun-hwa recounted, "I gained weight after getting injured. That photo was actually when I was slim," and added, "It was two years ago. I was sitting still talking and my neck touched. Even while sleeping I felt like this couldn't continue. I felt like I was being pinned down though I wasn't, like being paralyzed by a nightmare. No one was pressing on me, but I felt pressure. I kept craving food."
In the end, Hong Yun-hwa realized she was not healthy and decided to go on a diet. She explained, "I couldn't move, I gained weight, I became irritable and everything annoyed me, so I thought, 'I am really not healthy,' and from then on I decided to lose weight. This is my reduced state now."
When Noh Sa-yeon checked on Hong Yun-hwa, she said, "I was like a dump truck and became a van. When my size was parked in a parking lot, cars thought I was a compact car and didn't park in front of me. They thought a car was already parked. Back then I myself thought I was only the size of a compact car," attracting attention.
