Son Chang-min revealed behind-the-scenes of the drama "Shindon".
On the 4th broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day & Night' (hereafter Day & Night), Son Chang-min appeared as a guest.
Son Chang-min mentioned "Shindon," which is still loved as a "meme." He explained, "Period drama offers had come in before, but I refused because I didn't like attaching a beard. I had no choice but to film 'Shindon' because it was necessary to change the image of the 'delinquent housewife.'"
Son Chang-min added, "Shindon was the child of a slave. I thought there would certainly be controversy (with somewhat different vocalization), but I deliberately took the character in a different direction. Instead, when he seized power, I wanted to return to the original period drama tone."
Son Chang-min explained that the laughing scenes he showed in "Shindon" still act as beloved "memes," and that he even filmed commercials because of them.
In particular, Son Chang-min confessed that he had hesitated over appearing in "Shindon." He explained, "Isn't there image management? If you say 'ooak' at once, it's not stylish." Son Chang-min said that when he is offered other roles, he first refuses and waits, practicing the three visits and three pleas.
He said, "If both sides are evenly matched and I say I'll do it, won't the other side relax? In the end, I win. Even if a call comes, I don't answer it often. I answer and say, 'I was busy.' I'm not busy at all," saying that he tends to consider and decide carefully.<
