J-Hope's biological older sister, Jung Ji-woo, confessed the tragic miscarriage on her four-person personal channel "MEJIWOO."
Jung Ji-woo said, "It feels like it's been almost five months since I last greeted you all with a video. Have you been well?" and said, "These days I think I am focusing a bit more on work. I have quite a few personal projects, so I'm working on those projects. And during my completely free, personal time, I'm trying to increase the time I exercise. I'm paying attention to managing my health," updating fans on her recent life.
In particular, she said, "Of the news I couldn't share, the most impactful and the hardest news was the in vitro fertilization. Because this was a personal matter, at first I hesitated a lot to speak to you about it," and added, "In fact, during the roughly five to six months I was taking a break from videos, I spent time calming my body and mind and resting. During that time I had an excessive workload and a lot of stress, so I thought about making a choice for my family and seriously considered preparing for it and proceeded with in vitro fertilization."
She continued, "I started in vitro fertilization in November of last year, and actually the first transfer was done recently but it did not succeed. It is called a chemical pregnancy, and so the first attempt ended in this sad news," and added, "But I am recovering well and staying healthy. I am trying to take this calmly because it is something that commonly happens, but it did not work out. But now I'm really okay and I'm taking good care of my body, so you don't need to worry too much," showing a brave demeanor.
Jung Ji-woo said, "The reason it was so difficult for me to bring this up is that as I restart YouTube and share a lot about daily life, in vitro fertilization has become a significant part of that, and I couldn't share my daily life with you without including it," and added, "Even though it's a very personal matter, I thought I should share it with you, so I brought it up with difficulty. I am still considering a second egg retrieval and transfers. But I think I will probably start again soon."
Finally, Jung Ji-woo said, "Since it was so difficult for me to bring this up, I would appreciate it if you could be considerate about those aspects and refrain from excessive speculation or excessive questions," and added, I will occasionally record vlogs when I share daily life related to the in vitro process and, if there is helpful information, I will compile and share it so it can help others enduring the same period."
Meanwhile, J-Hope's biological older sister, Jung Ji-woo, is a well-known YouTuber with 2.38 million subscribers and is active as a businessperson and influencer. She made a surprise appearance on last year's MBC variety show I Live Alone in J-Hope's episode, and in May 2021 she married an older businessman.<
