The group BABYMONSTER celebrated their 2nd debut anniversary with witty skits and special announcements, bringing pleasant laughter to fans.
YG Entertainment posted '[BAEMON NEWS 7] THE 1ST BM AWARDS… AND MORE' on its official blog on the 3rd. This is an in-house news-format content first introduced in 2024, and this time the members' further upgraded variety skills and affection for fans are on display, eliciting warm smiles.
BABYMONSTER appeared as different characters, including anchor Lora, analyst Asa, fortune teller Chikita, and reporter Ahyeon. While naturally handling various setups and displaying their free-spirited charm, the return of characters who were loved in the previous season added to the audience's delight.
The highlight of this video is the 'Baemon Awards' ceremony commemorating their 2nd debut anniversary. Quirky and inventive award categories followed, including 'compensation for damages', 'management target', 'occasionally strange', 'beyond imagination', 'critical wound', 'a sure win', and 'sister statue', and the members elicited laughter with their deadpan emotional reactions and remarks.
Individuality also stood out in the 2nd anniversary congratulatory messages and analysis segments. Members transformed into Riri x Ahyeon, a producer, a nutritionist, a rapper, and others, offering congratulations in their own ways, and Asa and Chikita generated bursts of laughter with unpredictable back-and-forths about BABYMONSTER's two-year achievements.
In Ahyeon's solo news skit, the members' anticipation for the second world tour and the third mini album was evident. Ruka and Parita said, "Starting in Seoul in June, we will meet more Monsties (fandom name)," revealing their determination ahead of the tour, and they increased curiosity by showing the choreography for the new album's title track 'Choom (CHOOM)' while masked for mosaic privacy.
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER will release their third mini album [Choom (CHOOM)] at 6 p.m. on May 4 and begin full-fledged comeback activities. They will then embark on their second world tour, starting with the Seoul shows from June 26 to 28 and touring five continents—Asia, North America, Oceania, Europe, and South America.
