The group BTS swept Spotify charts for a second consecutive week with "Arirang" (ARIRANG).
On April 4, the global audio·music streaming platform Spotify released its latest weekly charts (tracking period: March 27–April 2), and BTS held the top positions for a second week in the global charts for "Weekly Top Albums," "Weekly Top Songs" and "Weekly Top Artists."
In particular, all 14 tracks included on this album achieved the remarkable result of landing in the top 50 of the "Weekly Top Songs Global" for two consecutive weeks. On daily charts such as "Daily Top Artists Global" and "Daily Top Songs Global," they have also continued long-running success by holding the No. 1 spot for 14 consecutive days (on the charts dated March 20–April 2).
Their performance on YouTube Music was also overwhelming. The title track "SWIM" ranked No. 1 on the global and U.S. "Weekly Top Songs" (tracking period: March 20–March 26), achieving approximately 83 million and 6.2 million weekly streams, respectively. Especially on the global "Weekly Top Songs," five tracks including the album cut "Body to Body" (No. 7), "Hooligan" (No. 26), "FYA" (No. 32) and "Like Animals" (No. 39) entered the upper ranks, and a total of 11 songs appeared on that chart. On the global "Weekly Top Artists," they rose 52 spots from before release to No. 3. With this, BTS tied the record for longest chart run at 527 weeks alongside global pop stars Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift. Also, the music video for the album track "2.0," released on April 2, held No. 1 on YouTube's global "Daily Top Music Videos" for two consecutive days (April 1–2, local time).
On the U.K. Official Charts released April 4, BTS's fifth full-length album "Arirang" ranked No. 4 on the "Official Albums Top 100" (chart dated April 3–April 9). "SWIM" landed at No. 5 on the "Official Singles Top 100," and "Body to Body" (No. 49) and "NORMAL" (No. 74) also charted. "SWIM" held No. 1 for two consecutive weeks on the component charts "Official Singles Sales" and "Official Singles Downloads."
They have begun consolidating top positions on major global charts, including Europe and Australia. According to Australia's ARIA released April 3, the new release stayed at the top of the "Top 50 Albums" chart for a second consecutive week. On the "Top 50 Singles," "SWIM" (No. 19) and "Body to Body" (No. 46) charted. On Germany's official music charts (Offizielle Deutsche Charts/chart dated April 3), the new album and the title track ranked No. 2 on the album chart and No. 3 on the singles chart, maintaining top positions. On the France record association (SNEP) "Top Albums" (tracking period: March 27–April 2), it recorded No. 2.
Meanwhile, BTS topped both the U.S. Billboard main album chart "Billboard 200" and the main song chart "Hot 100" simultaneously with "Arirang," reaching the pinnacle of the global music market. In Korea, without performing on broadcasts, they achieved a total of seven wins on SBS's "Inkigayo," KBS2's MUSIC BANK, Mnet's "M Countdown" and MBC M's "Show! Champion."
