Broadcaster Kim Sung-Ju later revealed that he had undergone surgery during the Miss Trot 4 competition.

That day, Kim Sung-Ju, recalling the competition, opened by saying, "I'm only talking about it now, but I was unwell and had to have surgery."
He went on, "I had my gallbladder removed during the competition," and confessed, "At the time I was so depressed I wondered, 'Do I need to keep working to the point of harming my body?'" which surprised viewers.
Kim Sung-Ju recalled that period and mentioned Jeok-woo's performance. He said, "Watching that stage made me cry continuously. It was extremely moving," conveying his complex emotions at the time.
In particular, Kim Sung-Ju said he had restrained emotional expression because of the superstition that "if a contestant cries on stage they will do well," and added that he had been holding back tears after Lim Young-woong's performance.
Meanwhile, Miss Trot 4 drew major attention as the finale recorded peak viewership in the 18% range.
