Broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu had an honest conversation with his daughter Lee Ye-rim about plans for a second child.
On the 2nd, the YouTube channel "GodKyung-kyu" uploaded a video titled "Even though she's my daughter… Ye-rim almost fought with Lee Kyung-kyu because of the baby."
The video showed Lee Kyung-kyu visiting a baby product store with Lee Ye-rim to build childcare knowledge ahead of the variety show "Childcare Intern."
At the store that day, when asked about plans for a baby, Lee Ye-rim candidly said, "It's a worry. I don't really like babies." She continued, "Because I keep doting on the dog, the thought of 'I want to have one too' should come first, but it doesn't," revealing her inner feelings.
Lee Ye-rim cited responsibility as the reason she can't easily decide to give birth. "The thought that I have to be responsible is too strong. I have to raise the dog this way, but a person requires even more care," she explained. Still, she added that "I might regret it later if I don't have a baby," expressing conflicted feelings.
In response, Lee Kyung-kyu jokingly showed embarrassment, saying, "I'm sorry. I raised you wrong."
He added, "I won't force you. I won't show any sign of being hurt. I won't even urge you to have one. It's your life," while also saying, "But I'm confident I can raise a child. During this shoot, I realized I'm overflowing with humanism," subtly expressing his hope for grandchildren.
Meanwhile, Lee Ye-rim married soccer player Kim Young-chan in 2021, and this year marks their sixth year of marriage.<
