Rapper Dok2 has been accused of failing to fulfill his debt payments for precious metals for three years.
According to a report by The Munhwa Ilbo Company on the 3rd, law firm Okims, which served as legal representative for the jewelry company, said in a statement, "Dok2 agreed, under the court's forced conciliation decision, to repay the debt in three installments, but has paid only once to date and the remaining debt remains unpaid."
On the 3rd, jewelry shop owner A filed a lawsuit against Dok2's former agency in 2019, claiming Dok2 purchased precious metals worth about $200,000 and then failed to pay part of the price. The court later, in 2022, largely upheld A's claim and ordered payment of the unpaid amount and delayed damages.
The report said Dok2 later repaid part of the amount, but about $30,000 in debt, including unpaid amounts and delayed damages, remains outstanding.
The legal representative also noted that Dok2 has been delaying debt repayment citing financial circumstances while continuing to stay abroad, and said it is considering additional legal measures such as future compulsory execution and provisional seizure.
However, the matter is an assertion by the legal representative, and Dok2's side has not responded.
Meanwhile, Dok2 recently announced the resumption of activities after founding a label with singer Lee Hi, and drew attention by admitting they are dating.<
