Actor Uhm Ji-won candidly spoke about how her views on dating have changed after her divorce and the possibility of remarriage.
Previously, Uhm Ji-won married an architect and travel writer in 2014, but she revealed in 2021 that they had divorced. At the time she said she was grateful for the time they had together and was happy, but she felt that the two of them fit each other more as friends than as spouses, and that it would be better to part ways for the time remaining" she said, announcing the divorce.
She added calmly, "We still cheer each other on in our work, check on each other's well-being and maintain a good relationship, but that person is currently in Vietnam and I am now in Seoul, and quite a long time has passed since we've been apart."
After going their separate ways, Uhm Ji-won revealed a much lighter view on dating on her YouTube channel on the 2nd, about five years later.
First, on the advantages of being single, Uhm Ji-won said, "I like that there isn't a part of dating that feels like an obligation," but she admitted a practical concern, saying, "If I say it like this, it seems increasingly difficult to meet people."
Saying that her goal this year is "blind dates," Uhm Ji-won said, "I'm thinking of doing blind-date content on YouTube," and added, "Isn't it common abroad to meet through apps? I plan to try it too," showing an active attitude that drew attention. She added, "I haven't made special efforts for dating, but I do want to meet a good person."
About her ideal type, she said, "Someone who manages their own life well is enough," presenting a practical standard. She also said, "I like someone who takes care of you in subtle ways," drawing attention.
