Actor Ha Do-kwon expressed tender feelings toward his wife, voice actress Yeo Min-jung.
On the 3rd broadcast of MBN, Channel S Jun Hyun-moo plan 3, actor Ha Do-kwon appeared as a "meal friend" and set out on a food tour of Cheongju, North Chungcheong.
That day KwakTube (Kwak Jun-bin) heard the 'meal friend' hint and mistakenly said, 'Isn't it Kim Sung-soo who was in "Full House"?' But the 'meal friend' turned out to be The Penthouse Ma Do-gi, the actor Ha Do-kwon who made an impression with his role as Kang Do-gi in "Stove League," and KwakTube said, 'I haven't watched "The Penthouse." I haven't watched "Stove League" either,' unable to respond. Ha Do-kwon replied, 'I've watched KwakTube so much,' sounding hurt, and delivered a blunt line, 'You don't match me,' which drew laughter.
Later, at the restaurant, KwakTube asked, 'You don't usually wear glasses, right?' and Ha Do-kwon answered, 'I wear glasses.' Jun Hyun-moo said, 'I've never seen you without glasses,' and Ha Do-kwon shot back, 'You don't know anything about me.' KwakTube asked, 'You don't wear glasses in "Stove League," right?' and said, 'Kang Do-gi is the player who drinks and plays baseball, right?'
Ha Do-kwon choked up, saying, 'That's really not right. Drinking and baseball..' and KwakTube asked again, 'Isn't he a player with poor mental strength but good skills?' Then Ha Do-kwon bristled, 'What did you even watch?' which added to the laughter.
Meanwhile, KwakTube asked Ha Do-kwon and Jun Hyun-moo, who are both 'born in 1977,' 'What topics do people born in 1977 talk about these days?' and said, 'You're 50 now, right? In the old age reckoning.' Jun Hyun-moo, who is 49 by international age, drew a line, saying, 'I don't know about being 50; that's for older brothers, so I don't really know,' and KwakTube repeated, 'In the old Korean age it's 50, right?' Jun Hyun-moo again dodged, 'I don't really know the old Korean age,' and when KwakTube persisted, 'If you count strictly, you've become 50,' Ha Do-kwon exploded, 'They said no. If you're not my friend, listen. They said no!' which provoked uproarious laughter.
Ha Do-kwon, who has one son and one daughter, answered the question 'How old are your kids?' with 'They're 21 and 18.' When asked for advice on raising children, he said, 'Until a child is about 5, at most 7, the father should spend as much time as possible. Play with them. Tackle them physically, throw them, do a lot of those things; that trust lasts a lifetime. Because when adolescence comes and they rebel, if the father suddenly acts like he's close, they say, 'Why are you like this all of a sudden? Why are you acting close? What have you been doing until now?' That happens. Really. I think it's all like that,' and added, 'So spending a lot of time in that period is the best. And watch them a lot. That beautiful time is so short. You can cut back on work a bit. I really recommend that,' offering sincere advice.
KwakTube agreed, saying, 'I thought that too,' but Jun Hyun-moo suspected, 'It seems like you're trying to get into this position all the time.' Then Ha Do-kwon said, 'You can cut back from now on,' and made a pointed remark that brought amusement: 'Wife should give birth and be well cared for so she won't be cursed at for life. Go to your family. For now I'll hold up with Hyun-moo,' implying something meaningful.
Especially, Ha Do-kwon expressed gratitude toward his wife. Jun Hyun-moo asked, 'Actually, Ha Do-kwon, thinking about it, you didn't debut early; you graduated from Seoul National University's vocal music department and what were you doing to debut in your 40s?' Ha Do-kwon explained, 'I continued in musical theater. Right after graduation I did musicals and debuted in musicals and joined a Japanese troupe. I went to audition, so I said I'd go too, and I was active for a long time in a troupe called "Theater Four Seasons," then came back to Korea and continued in musicals. Then I decided I should do acting, but there were about four years with no work at all. So there was no income. I taught students and did things like that,' he said.
Jun Hyun-moo asked, 'You had a four-year gap and debuted after turning 40; how did your wife react? Did she support you well?' and Ha Do-kwon apologized, saying, 'Anyway, financially someone has to take responsibility, and since I couldn't help, my wife had to do it alone. Even so, she waited. What could I do when she said she wanted to do it?'
Jun Hyun-moo said, 'It's not just that she's successful,' joking, 'She came out as Yeo Min-jung's husband,' and KwakTube exclaimed, 'Is it her? Is she Jjanga from "Crayon Shin-chan"?' He asked again, 'She's a very famous voice actress. What's her name?' and Ha Do-kwon answered, 'Yeo Min-jung.' Then KwakTube expressed admiration, 'So you were the husband of voice actress Yeo Min-jung.'
Jun Hyun-moo joked, 'It's not just that she's famous, it's like, she showed up as Yeo Min-jung's husband,' and KwakTube said, 'If that were to happen, though unlikely, if you had a marital fight the neighbors would enjoy listening,' and Jun Hyun-moo improvised, 'They'd think someone left a foreign film on next door,' which added to the laughter.
Finally, Jun Hyun-moo said, 'I have one important thing to ask. Are you preparing a musical?' and Ha Do-kwon revealed, 'I'm doing a large theater piece called "Swing Days." It's about a real person who existed in Korea and the only doctor who ran a corporation. I play his aide, Hwang Man-yong, in the play.' He added, 'The only doctor role is a triple with Yu Jun-Sang and Park Eun-tae and Shin Sung-rok, and my role will be shared by Jung Sang-hoon, me, and actor Kim Seung-yong.'
Then Jun Hyun-moo joked, 'I'll go when Jung Sang-hoon is on,' and Ha Do-kwon straightened his face and said, 'What?' which drew laughter. KwakTube said, 'I'll definitely go see it too,' bringing a warm close.
