The released image is part of BTS's "2.0" music video, also released that day; Jin is wearing dragonfly sunglasses and is scowling dramatically. It was revealed in the opening of the "2.0" music video and drew fans' attention.
The music video paid homage to a famous scene from Park Chan-wook's film Oldboy, and the stylish directing stood out, blending with the members' playful acting.
The members also expressed special affection for the "2.0" music video, saying, "It feels like a video that shows our evolved performance. Because it's a work that pays homage to a film, the filming process was fun. Above all, I have lasting memories of the makeup we wore at the beginning to portray the 'old BTS.' During filming we kept laughing at each other and were beside ourselves."
In particular, Jin's changing his Instagram profile photo was the first time since April 17, 2022—about four years—leading to speculation that he liked the "2.0" music video concept enough to change his profile photo after four years.
Meanwhile, BTS, which includes Jin, released their fifth studio album Arirang on the 20th of last month, and the title track "SWIM" topped the Billboard main song chart, the Hot 100. Of the 14 total tracks, all 13 songs with vocals charted, excluding the interlude track "No. 29," which contains the bell sound of the Seongdeokdaewangneung Bell.
