Former 'Exclusive World' announcer Park Seo-hwi said she received a spirit-shaking ritual to save her family.
On the 2nd episode of MBN (MBN) 'Exclusive World,' Park Seo-hwi, who debuted at the LPG Center in 2013 and was active as a sports announcer and on variety shows, appeared. Now running a shamanic shrine in Law and The City and living as a shaman, Park Seo-hwi looked unfamiliar.
Park Seo-hwi said, "I couldn't sleep and lost more than 10kg," and "It felt like my whole body was being beaten. Red spots appeared and I even received steroid injections, but there was no improvement," noting she experienced physical abnormalities but couldn't find the reason. Unable to bear it, Park Seo-hwi visited a fortune-teller's house, and everyone there told her she needed to receive a spirit-shaking ritual.
After much deliberation, Park Seo-hwi received the spirit-shaking ritual. She was afraid of dreaming that her family would die. As the eldest daughter loved by her harmonious parents, Park Seo-hwi had also been a source of pride for the four-member family. She was afraid of becoming shaman Park Seo-hwi instead of announcer Park Seo-hwi, but she was more afraid of her family dying. Park Seo-hwi cried loudly, saying, "When my last Arirang TV episode aired and I left, everyone thought I left because things were going well for me," and "But didn't I know it was my last broadcast?"
Park Seo-hwi said, "I think I loved broadcasting too much," and "Rather than feeling regret, I just want to live doing broadcasts like before." Park Seo-hwi still hadn't brought her parents to her shamanic shrine.
But her father, who dearly loved his daughter, immediately accompanied her when she said she was going to the mountain to pray. Park Seo-hwi said, "I was worried my father would be too sad, so I wanted to settle down a bit, become more respectable and confident, invite him and show him my daily life. I talk with my mother like a friend, but my father completely fell apart on the day (she received the spirit-shaking ritual)," explaining why she couldn't bring herself to look at her father's face.
Her father, watching his daughter pray, couldn't hide his conflicted feelings. A graduate of prestigious K University and known for his looks, he debuted with the girl group LPG Center and had worked as an announcer. The daughter he raised with abundant love was walking a difficult path. It wasn't by choice. Watching this, the father said, "(My daughter is) so pitiful. I feel sorry for her," then covered his mouth to muffle his cries so his praying daughter wouldn't hear and sobbed.
Comedian Kim Hye-sun encouraged Park Seo-hwi, saying, "You have to be confident. If you stay like this (shrinking), your parents will be like that too. Whatever you do, your parents will see you beautifully. It may feel unfamiliar."
Park Seo-hwi said, "My father is the kind of person who would even remove a single bone from a fish for me. I think, so this is how my father shows he cares for me," and wrote a letter to her parents asking them not to worry about her. Her father held back tears, saying, "Dad will always keep the letter thinking of you. I won't cry and will always think of you," and Park Seo-hwi smiled brightly, saying, "I hope you don't worry too much. I believe there is a heavenly will in my taking this path. I hope my parents stay healthy."
