NCT group member Doyoung expressed his feelings regarding Mark's departure from the team.
On the 3rd, Doyoung posted a long message on his social media saying, "I feel that saying nothing and just waiting for time to pass is neither like me nor like NCT 127, so I will try to express my feelings in my own words."
He said, "He was a friend I loved more than anyone, and because he is still a friend I love without change, we talked and listened for a long time," and added, "I decided to understand all of 'beloved Mark's' feelings, and to support him endlessly. I cannot convey Mark's feelings on his behalf, but I would be truly grateful if you would listen to Mark's long-held sincerity and worries without prejudice."
He continued, "Although we will not be able to see NCT 127 with Mark for the time being, if a moment comes when we can show you us together again, I will work hard to prepare and plan for that possible moment."
In particular, Doyoung urged, "If doubts and groundless speculation arise about Mark and the members, I think it will engulf us in unbearable sadness and injustice. Please, I beg you, let us keep the beauty that we and the fans have preserved together for more than 10 years."
Finally he said, "I think you cannot forcibly soothe the inevitable sense of loss and sorrow, but I will try to give the gift of greater happiness in the future."
Meanwhile, Mark announced that on that day he ended his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment after 10 years since debut and is leaving NCT.
In a handwritten letter, Mark explained, "As this is the time to conclude a 10-year contract, I woke up all the senses in my heart, pondered for a long time, and ultimately became curious about what the truly perfect, completed form of that dream would be and wanted to dive into it with full immersion. I wanted to properly find what my music or fruit might be and how I can bear it in the world, and make sure to achieve it."
