Problem Child in House cast member Park Eun-young expressed gratitude toward her "teacher" Lu Ching Lai chef.
On the 2nd, KBS 2TV Problem Child in House (hereafter "Problem Child") aired, where Park Eun-young recalled an episode with her "teacher" Lu Ching Lai chef.
Park Eun-young is known as a protégé of the "Chinese cuisine master" Lu Ching Lai. That day the MCs asked, "Is there anything you are most grateful to Lu Ching Lai chef for?"
Park Eun-young recalled, "There were so many, but the moment I was most thankful for was that after six years of cutting, I was allowed to handle the griddle for the first time and was promoted to head cook. In fact, I hadn't cooked much. I had just been cutting, and on the day the head chef was off he said, 'You take over and try it,' so I did."
She continued, "A regular who often came said, 'Why does the food taste like this today? Did the head chef change?' I had six years on the cutting board and two years on the noodle station, eight years of experience, but there were many moments when my self-esteem crumbled. When that incident happened I decided, 'I should just quit. It doesn't suit me.'"
There was even a call from Lu Ching Lai chef after he learned of this. Park Eun-young said, "He didn't mention any of my faults. He said, 'I don't mind. Keep working hard like you are now and don't be discouraged,'" she said.
When told she must have cried a lot, Park Eun-young said, "I cried a lot. He said a few words like that and then, 'Go do your job.' I was very grateful."
