'Welcome, First Time in Korea?' Paco sets out to conquer hanjeongsik, the pinnacle of traditional Korean cuisine.
On today (the 2nd) broadcast of MBC Every1's entertainment show 'Welcome, First Time in Korea? (abbreviated Welcome, First Time in Korea)' episode 422, the three French friends Paco, Max and Jamil, who arrived in Jeonju, visit a Korean restaurant whose entrance already exudes traditional beauty to experience "the taste of tradition." In particular, Paco, who recently rose to stardom after ranking No. 1 for two consecutive weeks in the non-drama performer popularity category of Good Data Corporation FUNdex, is expected to captivate viewers on this Jeonju trip with his characteristically sincere reactions.
Upon arriving in Jeonju, Paco and his friends head to a Korean restaurant as their first itinerary. Then, witnessing the overwhelming sight of staff carrying the entire table in one go, Paco said, "It feels like I've come to the dynasty era," and enjoyed feeling like a king. Overwhelmed by the majesty of the 25-course half-table spread before him, Paco even declared, "I don't want to go back to France! I want to live in Korea," announcing he would forgo returning home.
When the main meal began in earnest, the friends' varied mukbangs also shone. 'Eating professor' Max put on an all-time eating display that even made MC Kim Joon-hyun express admiration. In particular, Max is said to have found the "life food" worthy of a lifetime of loyalty here, raising expectations. Even Jamil, who is familiar with Korean food from working part-time at a Korean restaurant, repeatedly gave thumbs-up to the deep expertise of Jeonju hanjeongsik.
But the peaceful mealtime was short-lived when a huge barrier called 'hongeo samhap' appeared for them. Boldly challenging it, Paco made a strange face saying, "Something is coming up through my nose," creating tension at the scene. Whether Paco can safely eat hongeo samhap, which even Koreans find difficult, raises anticipation for the broadcast.
