Actors Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, Kim Seon-ho and Lee Ki Taek come together for a new variety show, Bonjour Bakery.
On the 2nd, Coupang Play confirmed that Bonjour Bakery, a new-concept cafe that serves sweet French desserts to elderly residents of a rural village, will premiere on May 8 and released the casting lineup including Kim Hee-ae, Cha Seung-won, Kim Seon-ho and Lee Ki Taek.
Bonjour Bakery is a healing baking variety show set in the country's first "senior dessert cafe," which opened in a quiet rural village, where elders who know the flavors of life and the bakery family who know the flavors of happiness share sweet comfort and warmth. Through the unique concept of an "yes senior zone" cafe that only allows entry to elders aged 65 and older and their companions, the show promises fresh entertainment and warm connections never seen before.
First, the "chef team," responsible for the kitchen, is led by the trusted "Chef Cha," Cha Seung-won. Known for showcasing surprising charm with his exceptional cooking skills, he this time challenges French baking, which requires delicate techniques, transforming into "Chef Cha-tissier," who layers care painstakingly. Joining him as the bright-energy "assistant patissier" is Lee Ki Taek. He will become Cha Seung-won's reliable right-hand, busily moving around the oven and bringing cheerful energy to the kitchen with unexpected clumsiness and unstoppable passion.
The "floor team," which communicates most closely with the customers, promises classy service and warm interaction. Transformed into the "general manager," Kim Hee-ae holds the center of the cafe with her characteristic elegance and gentle smile. Listening to the elders' stories and sharing sincere empathy, her presence will raise Bonjour Bakery's healing quotient. Joining her, Kim Seon-ho appears as the "barista," showing off his "national grandson" charm. With his kindly smile and friendly reactions, he is expected to melt the elders' hearts and serve happiness in a fragrant cup of coffee.
Like a pastry built from many layers that completes a crispy charm, attention is already focused on the special chemistry the four people with different personalities will create in one space. In particular, it is said that they learned baking and barista skills themselves and filmed despite busy schedules. There is already anticipation about what pleasant back-and-forth will arise when these carefully baked sweet desserts meet the rustic but sincere life stories of the rural elders.
Bonjour Bakery, which will sweetly melt viewers' hearts like a bite of dessert, will be available on Coupang Play at 4 p.m. Friday, May 8.
