Actor Kim Hong-pyo expressed his feelings about becoming a late-in-life father.
On the 2nd, Kim Hong-pyo told OSEN, "A friend said he will see his grandchild this year. Although it is very late for me, a precious life has come, hasnt it? I am so moved and my feelings are strange," revealing his emotions about becoming a father.
Earlier, on the 1st, Kim Hong-pyo announced via his SNS account, "I became a father on April 1. My daughter and my wife are healthy. Now, as the time that begins as a father starts, my mindset is different. I once again thank the many people who supported me," announcing the birth of his daughter.
He married a non-celebrity six years his junior in 2021 at the age of 46. After a late marriage, Kim Hong-pyo, who later announced the birth, looked back, "During the pregnancy I was very cautious. I went to the hospital often. I was worried something might go wrong in the middle, so I was careful until the child was born."
However, regarding his wife's current condition, he also said, "My wife is healthy. Because of her age, she had a cesarean section (at the time of birth). She is healthy."
Becoming a "late-in-life father," Kim Hong-pyo said, "They say when a child is born, the second act of life begins. I have acted and tried various jobs. Rather than thinking I have to do this as an actor, the desire to take responsibility for my wife, my child and my family grew larger," and added, "My attitude has changed a lot. I feel I must work hard without being picky about jobs. Of course I worked hard before, but my approach to them has changed."
After debuting as a stage actor in 1994 and officially debuting as an SBS fifth class contracted actor in 1995, Kim Hong-pyo appeared in dramas such as LA Arirang, Im Kkeok-jeong, Seven Brides, Hong Gil-dong, KAIST, Sweet Bride, The Great King Sejong, Jingbirok, The Kings Dream and Scandal, leaving an impression on viewers. In particular, because of his resemblance to Brad Pitt, the public sometimes remembered him with the nickname "Korea's Brad Pitt."
Recently, he has continued acting by appearing in the MBC drama Chanarhan neoui gyejeol (Your Radiant Season), and he is active in various fields, including working as an art docent.
Regarding future activity plans, Kim Hong-pyo said, "I am currently shooting a film. I will put on a performance at the end of this month, and I am preparing to upload about three YouTube videos," and added, "While working as a docent, a book called "Men who read paintings" related to art will be published in June. I recently gave a humanities lecture, and I plan to continue it in the future," foreshadowing a busy schedule.
