Rapper Seo Chul-gu proved overwhelming skill based on his survival experience.
On the 11th episode of the Netflix daily variety show Death Game: Bet 10 Million Won (directed by Kwon Dae-hyun, produced by TEO), released on the 1st, a 1:1 brainical match unfolded between DinDin, nicknamed the "brains monster," and Seo Chul-gu, a "survival strongman."
First, DinDin, after defeating IVE's Gaeul and KAIST artificial intelligence researcher Heo Seong-beom, challenged a three-game winning streak and expressed confidence, saying, "I learned the appeal of survival." Facing him was Seo Chul-gu, a survival strongman who showed a distinctive presence in "The Game of Blood" seasons 2 and 3. Jang Dong-min said, "He is a character recognized in survival. He was the friend who declared himself my rival," expressing anticipation.
The game the two played was "Suspects," a puzzle game in which players capture three suspects whose combinations match across several cards. Each suspect has four attributes—time slot, hairstyle, disguise and weapon—and a capture is possible only when each attribute is all the same or all different. Reaching "uncapturable" first is the key point of the game; Jang Dong-min introduced this game as an upgraded version of the combined games in The Genius and commented, "It's a very fun game."
Seo Chul-gu and DinDin used different strategies from the start. Seo Chul-gu sought suspects based on rare attributes and signaled an aggressive declaration of "uncapturable," while DinDin planned to check one attribute at a time and call "uncapturable" only when certain. Jang Dong-min emphasized, "It's important to set a clear logic. You have to set a logic that can check all possibilities."
When the game began in earnest, Seo Chul-gu quickly got a feel for it and widened the score gap. He found suspects and successfully reached "uncapturable," gaining momentum. By contrast, DinDin, who had shown early confidence, struggled and fell into a meltdown, and Jang Dong-min added teasing commentary that brought laughs. As the game moved into the later rounds, DinDin gradually regained his touch and attempted a chase, but Seo Chul-gu maintained his focus until the end and sealed the victory.
Episode 11 winner Seo Chul-gu won the symbolic seed and prize money of 10 million won. DinDin, who sadly failed to secure three consecutive wins, commented, "I'm embarrassed. I think I was too arrogant. If I have another chance, I'll come back looking better."
At the end of the broadcast, season 2, which is set to start anew, was teased, raising expectations. The previous 11 matches were, in effect, a buildup for season 2. With a tournament of season 1 winners, and new faces such as travel YouTuber KwakTube, KiiiKiii's Jiyu and Park Hee-sun from Single's Inferno 5 also announced, viewers can expect an unprecedented showdown. Curiosity is rising over who will be the final winner of the grand final season 2.
Meanwhile, Death Game is scheduled to return on Wednesday the 22nd as season 2 after a three-week restructuring period following episode 11.
