Lee Jang-woo expressed his feelings about the controversy over a 40 million won outstanding payment at his sundae soup restaurant.
On the 2nd, a new video titled "I will talk about the recent controversy" was released on the YouTube channel "Fat Uncle Lee Jang-woo."
That day Lee Jang-woo recalled why he took a two-week break from YouTube and said, "First, I am very sorry to those who waited. Our channel is one where we happily laugh, eat and all enjoy together, but because of a personal matter I thought it was right to sort this out and upload the video."
Lee Jang-woo said, "I'm not the kind of person brazen enough to take other people's money and do business like that. Actually what happened is there was an intermediate distributor and a livestock company. When we received meat from the distributor, we settled immediately."
He continued, "But last September we changed the distributor to another one, and the transaction ended in September last year. We had paid all the meat costs," and explained, "But the intermediate distributor's management worsened and they couldn't pay the livestock company. That's how that outstanding payment occurred."
He added, "But the livestock company owner misunderstood that I was running that distributor. They thought I had to repay the outstanding amount because I was the operator there. They misunderstood like that," and said, "I contacted the livestock company owner and we have now completely cleared up the misunderstanding with the distributor and the livestock company, and in any case I said I would take moral responsibility for this matter."
Meanwhile, it was reported that the sundae soup restaurant operated by Lee Jang-woo had not paid 40 million won for pig offal for eight months, sparking controversy. In response, Lee Jang-woo's side said, "Hoseokchon (the sundae soup restaurant operated by Lee Jang-woo) has already paid the full delivery amount to Mujin Co., Ltd., the contractual vendor," and disclosed all transfer records.
