Singer IU and actor Byeon Woo-seok display a fantastic married-couple synergy as "Perfect Crown."
The leads IU (playing Seong Hee-ju) and Byeon Woo-seok (playing Grand Prince Iaan) of the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama "Perfect Crown" (written by Yoo Ji-won, directed by Park Jun-hwa·Bae Hee-young), which premieres on the 10th, revealed keywords about the couple's relationship and their acting chemistry.
In the story, Seong Hee-ju (IU) has everything but faces the social limitation of being born the illegitimate child of a commoner, and Grand Prince Iaan (Byeon Woo-seok), the king's son who has been unable to have anything and has lived hiding himself, choose a contractual marriage to change their given destinies.
Regarding the relationship between the two, IU called it "each other's savior," and Byeon Woo-seok called it "a relationship that cannot be severed," foreshadowing a bond nothing can separate. As IU and Byeon Woo-seok introduced, their relationship as a couple who cannot be separated promises a romance in which Seong Hee-ju and Grand Prince Iaan will save each other's lives.
Beyond that, curiosity grows about the acting chemistry between IU and Byeon Woo-seok that will portray the precious connection between Seong Hee-ju and Grand Prince Iaan. IU said, "After briefly working together on another project about 10 years ago, this time we got to act as full partners, and it felt comfortable from the reading. On set we came up with a lot of ideas and encouraged each other, building our chemistry," boasting strong teamwork.
Byeon Woo-seok also said, "Every time we filmed, IU and the staff gave a lot of consideration and help, so our rhythm was really good," suggesting a warm filming atmosphere. Therefore, the story of Grand Prince Iaan and Seong Hee-ju, born from IU and Byeon Woo-seok's firm trust, delicate consideration and clever ideas, is even more anticipated.
Set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy Korea, "Perfect Crown," a romance about overturning destiny and breaking social status barriers between a woman who has everything as a chaebol but is irritating because she is a commoner and a man who is the king's son but cannot have anything and is sad, premieres on Friday the 10th at 9:40 p.m.
