In the divorce lawsuit trial, the first trial court found Hong Seo-beom and Cho Gap-kyung's son responsible for the divorce and ordered him to pay 30 million won in consolation money and 800,000 won per month in child support until the child becomes an adult. The court also ordered A to receive 20 million won in consolation money from the other woman involved.
Former daughter-in-law A claimed the cause of the breakup was the affair of Hong Seo-beom and Cho Gap-kyung's son, and after the controversy erupted, Hong Seo-beom and Cho Gap-kyung issued a statement.
