"Problem Child in House" chef Kim Si-hyun recounted an incident in which he was seriously injured.
On the Feb. 2 broadcast of KBS 2TV "Problem Child in House" (hereafter "Okmunah"), MZ chef and "Chinese cuisine goddess" Park Eun-young and "baby beast" chef Kim Si-hyun, who shone on the popular cooking survival show "Culinary Class Wars," appeared.
That day, when asked whether he had ever been injured while working in the kitchen, he said, "A long time ago I once had severe burns. I was hospitalized for about a month while working. At that time, I suffered burns over more than 25% of my arm and face," he confessed, surprising everyone.
He continued, "While serving hot water or tea during a meal, in the process of boiling and carrying it, the floor was slippery and I slipped and fell. I fell down the stairs. So it splashed onto my arm and spread to my face," he recalled.
Kim Si-hyun explained, "My chef's uniform was all cotton, so after being so shocked and pulled out, they urgently treated me with cold water, but when I took off my clothes the skin on my arm had peeled off. I was immediately hospitalized and at first they said I would need to stay for one to two months."
When asked if he had fully recovered, Kim Si-hyun said, "At first I was wrapped like a mummy. My upper body was wrapped, and when I saw other burn patients, some people's faces had melted, and I was also very scared. So at that time I didn't see my father for a visit. It was hard to see anyone," he revealed.
He said that now there are almost no burn scars left. Kim Si-hyun said, "If I remove my makeup there's a slight mark. It's a mark only I know," and said he overcame the trauma with the help of colleagues.<
