"X's private life" Kim Gu Ra strongly sympathized with the fighting-dog couple who separated over money and revealed his own reason for divorce.
On the 31st Tuesday on TV CHOSUN variety show 'X's private life,' Jin Hyun-geun and Gil Yeon-ju, who gained attention as a fighting-dog couple on the "divorce reflection camp," appeared.
First, Gil Yeon-ju said about the reason for marriage, "I became pregnant while we were dating," mentioning the premarital pregnancy, but that the former in-laws did not want to hold the wedding. Gil Yeon-ju said, "They said they were busy and told us to have the baby first and get married, and they suggested postponing the wedding, which felt strange," and "My parents said to end it here," saying that ultimately they could not hold a wedding and became a married couple only with wedding photos. At three months pregnant, the wedding photos were the only remaining evidence of the marriage. Gil Yeon-ju said, "I was so upset."
The two said they had never fought while dating. But the atmosphere changed after marriage. Gil Yeon-ju said, "A bill for debts from before his bachelor days came through and his ex-wife was angry about debts he hadn't known about," adding, "The voices got louder and it affected nearby neighbors, so I avoided the place. Conversely, the ex-wife wanted to resolve it immediately; if he came home a little late, my things were thrown out the window and fights started," reflecting on married life. Moreover, with the debt being 50 million won, Kim Gu Ra pointed out to Gil Hyun-geun, "You were largely responsible," criticizing the situation of 50 million won in debt.
After dating for a year, the two held their child. Gil Yeon-ju said, "I wanted to keep the family until the end, but I came to doubt the person until the end; there were many lies and trust hit rock bottom." While heavily pregnant she also looked for a newlywed home and recalled, "Because my ex-husband had no money, the deposit for the newlywed home was paid with my money and our parents helped," noting there was no support from his in-laws and that financial problems arose from the start of the marriage. She cited the collection notice for her ex-husband's 50 million won debt as the beginning of the conflict.
Hearing this, Kim Gu Ra said, "I am also known to have debts amounting to 1.7 billion, but at first it was 1 billion," noting that it gradually increased, and empathized, "The important thing is that not stating the exact amount of debt leads to a vicious cycle of lies." He added to Gil Hyun-geun, "You should have been honest from the start," and "Do you know why I am raising my voice now? I was in that situation too; it drove me crazy," which drew attention.
Regarding the 50 million won debt, Jin Hyun-geun said he worked at an insurance securities company and "received subscribers and commissions," adding, "However, the subscriber had to cancel the contract to receive a refund. If the insurance was canceled, the refund money came to my debt," explaining that he did not know the scale of the debt due to the unpredictable refund payments. Gil Hyun-geum regretted, "Most of it was refund debt; being young and trying to make a lot of money, I didn't think through the list," expressing regret.
Gil Yeon-ju said, "From then on, thinking he had deceived me changed my personality," and "Even when I asked how to repay the debt, he avoided it," explaining the reason for the eventual explosion. Gil Yeon-ju said, "A couple is a community. We were put in a state of owing debts. Trust was completely shattered," giving the reason for the rift.
