HYBE appointed global platform and media experts as directors to strengthen its global business expertise.
HYBE said on the 1st that, through its regular shareholders' meeting, it appointed Isaac Lee (Isaac Lee), chairman and CEO of HYBE America, as an inside director, and Kevin Mayer (Kevin Mayer), former senior vice president of The Walt Disney Company, as an outside director.
Isaac Lee, the inside director, is currently chairman and CEO of HYBE America, overseeing overall business in the United States and Latin America. This appointment of an inside director aims to unify the decision-making system between the headquarters and overseas bases to maximize business execution capabilities in the North American and Latin markets. Isaac Lee will focus on strengthening HYBE's global business competitiveness by advancing the "multi home·multi-genre" strategy, which secures diverse genres and artists centered on regional bases.
Kevin Mayer, the outside director, is regarded as a "strategist" in the global media industry. He served as senior EVP and chief strategy officer at The Walt Disney Company and led the launch of Disney+. He has built an unrivaled network in platform and content investment through co-founding TikTok's CEO and Candle Media. Based on these experiences, Kevin Mayer is expected to enhance HYBE's global platform business capabilities and provide professional insight during investment and strategic partnership processes.
A HYBE official said, "With key experts from the global platform and media industries joining the board, we expect HYBE's decision-making system to be further advanced," and added, "The joining of Director Isaac Lee, who will lead close cooperation between headquarters and overseas bases, and Director Kevin Mayer, who will manage strategic risks with macro insights into the global platform business, will be a great help for HYBE to achieve sustainable growth in the global market."
