Actor In Gyo-jin revealed the shocking harm he suffered because of a friend addicted to gambling.
On the 31st episode of tvN STORY's "Lee Ho-seon Counseling Center," a story related to gambling addiction was aired, and In Gyo-jin drew attention by sharing his own experience.
That day In Gyo-jin said, "He was a friend I was close with, but at some point we lost contact, and then when he became an adult he suddenly contacted me," and "It turned out to be about money, and he was in a gambling addiction state."
Feeling sorry for him, he said he tried to buy him a meal and recalled, "One day I got a call from a Gangwon area number and he said, 'I messed up gambling.'" He added, "He said he couldn't eat, so I gave him 200,000 won, and since he had nowhere to go I let him stay at my house."
But the unexpected happened. In Gyo-jin said, "That night he took all the money in the house," and "The problem was my car was gone too," which shocked listeners. He explained, "When I reported it to the police, the car was on the way to Gangwon, and it ran out of gas so he had walked away to escape."
It didn't end there. In Gyo-jin said, "He kept contacting me afterward," and "He said he got married but his daughter had kidney failure and asked for hospital fees, so I sent money directly to the hospital." However, he revealed, "The hospital contacted me asking 'Why did you send money?' It was a lie," adding another shock.
He said, "He kept contacting me like that for 15 years," and confessed, "So now I shudder at the mere mention of the word gambling."
