Shin-Soo Choo's two sons showed remarkable baseball skills like their father.
On the 1st, the YouTube channel "Hawonmi" uploaded a video titled "First reveal of Shin-Soo Choo's sons' baseball skills (feat. Choo Mubin, Choo Geonwoo)."
That day, Choo's two sons started exercising with their father. When asked if they exercise often, eldest Mubin answered, "I do it with Geonwoo. We do it every day. Our dad is retired now, so our dad joins when he has time."
Currently, eldest son Mubin plays first base and whenever he hits, it's a home run. He has 36 RBIs in 27 games, ranking first in batting average and home runs within the same conference, and it was reported he ranks first in home runs across the entire California college league.
When asked why he wanted to become a baseball player, the eldest said, "When I was young I watched my dad and thought I wanted to be like him. But now I do it because I want to."
Second son Geonwoo, whose position is outfielder, also said, "At first I wanted to do it because of my dad, but now I really like baseball."
In Geonwoo's case, his batted ball speed is 169.6 km/h, showing pro-level power potential. He ranks first among outfielders from Texas and recently drew attention after being named MVP at the 15U Pacific Baseball Championship.
Hawonmi said of the two sons, "I kept watching them grow up playing baseball. I don't think my kids have ever thought about anything else. They went to ballparks when they were in the womb and lived at the ballpark after they were born. They naturally saw dad playing baseball."
Especially, Hawonmi boasted about the younger son's baseball skills. He said, "They say a five-tool player is very rare, and Geonwoo is a five-tool player," and added, "Over five games he's batting .750. That's actually an unbelievable batting average," revealing a proud parent's side.
He continued, "Our Geonwoo has never gone to a showcase. There's something you do once a year where they measure how fast you can throw and how well you can hit and make a profile. But dad (Shin-Soo Choo) said, 'Does that have meaning? It's more important to keep learning,' so he never went. That's why there's no data."
Because there was no data at first people didn't know the younger son was Shin-Soo Choo's son. It is now known that he is Choo's son and that he inherited baseball DNA and is showing tremendous skills, drawing more admiration.
Meanwhile, the younger son Geonwoo has a perfectionist tendency and made a face when things did not go his way during practice, for which Shin-Soo Choo scolded him. Choo said, "You're too emotional during practice. How can you always hit well? If you miss one, you scowl and get angry. There are more things you can't do in baseball, so if you keep doing that are you going to be angry every day?" and added, "You really can't do that. Why do you practice? Isn't it to fix things?" chastising him and drawing attention.
