On the 1st broadcast, MBC 'Sung Seok Hee's Questions' featured singers Yoon Jongshin and Sung Si Kyung.
That day, Son Seok Hee referenced Sung Si Kyung's earlier, widely discussed appearance on a Japanese variety show and asked, "They said the Japanese panelists were impressed at how well he sang 'Hiroin,'" he asked.
When that scene appeared, Sung Si Kyung said, "I was so nervous. I had to do it exactly like that." Seeing this, Yoon Jongshin marveled, "He does well. It's hard, that one."
Son Seok Hee asked, "I heard that if even one note is off you get eliminated," and Sung Si Kyung recounted, "There is a standard set by the machine. But if you sing as if singing a song, you immediately fail. You have to perform exactly like the machine. You can't put song emotion into it. You must sing like a machine to pass."
Although the video became a hot topic, Sung Si Kyung said he was actually embarrassed. He confessed, "I was so embarrassed that I hoped many people wouldn't see it. But many people said I did well, so I stayed quiet."
Sung Si Kyung, who memorized the song in three days, recalled, "If you sing while watching the pitch, you miss the lyrics. Conversely, if you look at the lyrics, you miss the pitch, so it was really difficult. Inside the studio you stand in front of the camera and start an interview. They ask if you will take on the challenge."
He added, "If you pass, a second interview of 20 to 30 minutes begins. I went to level nine and did it for almost four hours. I was drenched in sweat. Of course they give water, but the more you talk the more your throat tires, and as you go further back the levels get higher so I got stomach cramps," he revealed, causing surprise.
Then Son Seok Hee mentioned "silk clothes." In response, Sung Si Kyung joked, "Don't they say that good items are wrapped in silk and sent overseas?"
