Actress Hwang Bo-ra declared that her son Woo-in has been added to the "cultural center blacklist."
On the 31st, a video titled "Did Hwang Bo-ra get blacklisted at the cultural center as soon as she visited with her son? | first visit of their lives, realities of raising her son, kids' cafe recommendations" was uploaded to the "Hwang Bo-ra Boraiety" channel.
That day Hwang Bo-ra said, "There is something called TnTn in the APT. community center, and this happens once every three months — not kidding, even if you spam-click at 6 a.m. you can't get it. That's how it is. Even though it's inside the APT. Especially in Woo-in's case, he often plays with Ji-woo. Because they play a lot, it's better to do it together, two or three, rather than alone, so we came together. Woo-in often sees Ji-woo and these days they're doing shared childcare every day," she said, sharing that she visited the cultural center with a friend's daughter.
They first took an art play class. Watching Woo-in, who whined and couldn't sit still even before it started, Hwang Bo-ra worried, "Can he receive education now? He can't sit still for even five minutes." He said, "We've been to kids' cafes, but this is our first time at a cultural center," and the friend said, "If we have to play with them at a kids' cafe, here the teacher leads and teaches the children, so we're also a bit relieved." But Hwang Bo-ra broke into a nervous sweat, saying, "It's true it's convenient now? It's not convenient at all. Teacher, please come quickly.."
Sure enough, Woo-in escaped five minutes after class started, and Hwang Bo-ra tried to soothe him by saying, "Woo-in, shall we go to the teacher to study?" but when that didn't work she despaired, "Ji-woo would be better with one-on-one lessons. Woo-in won't do it." Then Woo-in went back into the classroom, and Hwang Bo-ra tried to focus him by saying, "Woo-in, look for the rabbit too," but Woo-in appeared distracted by other things.
To redirect his attention, the paint play began, and it seemed to proceed smoothly at last, but Hwang Bo-ra was stunned when she saw Woo-in spill the paint. Seeing Woo-in covered in paint, she panicked, "Woo-in, do it a little. Does it usually get like this?" and the teacher explained, "Yes. Normally we wear art gowns to do this."
After that, Woo-in didn't draw with the paint but poured it onto the paper, and the teacher explained, "This happens very often. Our friends like to pour and close the lids." Hwang Bo-ra gradually showed signs of rising anger, saying, "That's enough. If you do this a little it'll be over. This won't do. You'll get scolded by the teacher," trying to calm him. Even so, with Woo-in running wild, she declared, "Enough, stop! Art class is suspended for the time being.." issuing a self-ban.
When art class ended, Hwang Bo-ra said, "Teacher, I'm so sorry," and said, "Stop art study. Don't study drawing anymore. Don't draw anymore." When asked if there are many children like Woo-in, the teacher said, "If they're not used to the space they go out or look for their mother," but when asked, "What would you think if you had a child like Woo-in?" the teacher was greatly embarrassed and laughed.
Eventually the class was switched to a customized physical play class for the active Woo-in. Even so, Woo-in couldn't concentrate and was busy playing on the slide, and an exhausted Hwang Bo-ra voiced, "This is too hard.." For the final activity, they built a brick house, but Woo-in didn't follow instructions, and Hwang Bo-ra pleaded, "Woo-in, come here. This is my one wish as a mother. Please attach it,"
Still unable to focus, Hwang Bo-ra shook her head and said, "You're on the blacklist now. I think this is the first and last time." After class ended, she repeatedly apologized, "Teacher, you worked so hard. I'm sorry." When asked for her review she resignedly said, "You know how it is, right? I'm pretty disappointed. I really thought Woo-in would follow along well."
She continued, "Woo-in's temperament suits this (physical play), but I think he needs education that builds concentration, like art education. Rather than letting him do what he wants, make him do the opposite so he can become calmer and more focused. Will it get better after he turns 2? But the teacher said earlier that it's good for children with similar temperaments to take class together, and Ji-woo and Woo-in had very different temperaments, so it was good to learn about the two children's temperaments today. My biggest worry is that the teacher won't accept us in the future," she confessed.
The production staff asked, "Ji-woo's mother, would you and Woo-in come to the cultural center again?" and Hwang Bo-ra replied, "Tell them no.." which elicited laughter. Afterwards she asked the teachers, "You were so good today — do you charge materials fees by any chance?" and continued to apologize until the end, saying, "Woo-in, let's go now. Say 'sorry' to the teachers quickly. Teacher, I'm sorry,"
