Pacific Music Group (Pacific Music Group, hereafter PMG) has abruptly appointed music producer Samuel Ku as the inaugural head to lead its Korea branch.
PMG, which recently announced the establishment of its Korea branch, said on the 1st that it appointed Samuel Ku, who is well-versed in the domestic music industry, as CEO and has begun concrete steps to discover K-POP artists and support their overseas expansion.
PMG is a label founded by U.S. R&B star Ne-Yo together with Sonu Nigam and Jonathan Serbin, with the core goal of discovering and nurturing Asian artists and introducing them to the global market.
Newly appointed CEO Samuel Ku is a music producer and songwriter who has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 15 years and is a veteran who has collaborated with well-known domestic artists including GOT7, Olivia Marsh, and f(x).
PMG plans to combine CEO Samuel Ku's expertise and network to operate labels across various genres such as pop, R&B, hip-hop, and electronic, and to ramp up content production that reflects Korea's musical character.
Regarding his inauguration, CEO Samuel Ku emphasized, "The launch of Pacific Music Group Korea is an important starting point for our global strategy, and with a clear artistic vision it will serve as an opportunity to organically connect each market not only in Asia but across the world."
He continued, "We will focus on connecting artists with the world and achieving sustained growth through meaningful partnerships that transcend culture, community and borders," outlining PMG Korea's direction.
With the appointment of its CEO marking an official start, PMG Korea plans to accelerate its assault on the global music market by sequentially recruiting a variety of artists alongside CEO Samuel Ku.
