SHINee member Key reports his whereabouts after suspending activities for about five months.
On the 27th, news of SHINee's full-group solo concert was announced. SHINee will meet fans by holding their eighth solo concert '- The Trilogy I - 2026 SHINee WORLD VIII : [THE INVERT]'(- The Trilogy I - 2026 SHINee World VIII : [The Invert]) at KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Songpa District, Seoul, for three days from May 29 to 31.
SM Entertainment said, "This performance is a new solo concert presented by the four SHINee members after one year," adding, "The title INVERT, which means 'to turn over' or 'to switch,' will suit the concert as you can encounter SHINee's musical world through unconventional staging and new perspectives."
Through this concert in particular, Key will appear in public for the first time in about five months since suspending activities. Last December, Key was embroiled in the so-called 'injection auntie' suspicion stemming from broadcaster Park Na-rae's abuse of power controversy, which caused a stir.
At the time, controversy arose after evidence surfaced that Park Na-rae had received procedures from or prescriptions for controlled substances from A, the so-called 'injection auntie,' who was found not to hold a formal medical license. It later emerged that A was acquainted with SHINee's Key, and Key too consequently faced public scrutiny.
SM Entertainment said in an official statement, "Key visited a hospital in Gangnam District where A works on the recommendation of an acquaintance and first came to know him as a doctor. He continued to receive treatment at that hospital and, when visiting the hospital was difficult recently, received treatment at home a few times. He believed A to be a doctor, and because A made no particular remarks, he did not think receiving treatment at home would be a problem," adding, "Key only recently became aware for the first time of the controversy over A's medical license and that A is not a doctor, and he is very confused and is deeply reflecting on his own ignorance."
Key himself posted on social media, "I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people lately with various stories related to me. I had been confident I could stay far from such matters, but that confidence seems to have prevented me from looking around more wisely, and I feel so sorry and ashamed to the many who trusted and supported me," adding, "I will diligently do everything I can regarding this matter. I will once again take time to reflect on myself and my surroundings."
Along with this, Key decided to withdraw from scheduled programs and from fixed-member appearances on tvN's Amazing Saturday and MBC's I Live Alone. He then disappeared from YouTube and other media and suspended activities.
He is set to appear before the public for the first time since the controversy at SHINee's full-group concert in May. As this is his first public update in about five months, attention is focused on how he will meet fans.
Meanwhile, '- The Trilogy I - 2026 SHINee World VIII : [The Invert]' is scheduled to open general ticket sales through Melon Ticket at 8 p.m. today (the 1st).
